So you’re a political activist, morally dubious hedge fund, or some sort of general indvidual that hates the current state of corporate affairs and want an easy way to gather potentially scandalous information from a manager of a company or from a consulting firm? Here’s how to do it in 3 easy steps:

1. Take a flight somewhere

The easy answers would be to New York, Chicago, or London but don’t discount where the real boring fascism of the corporate world resides: depressing office parks in locations such as Columbus, Tampa, or Glasgow where many companies have their operational staff located. These locations are going to be full of the rank and file employees who are conditioned to safety as they see their work as largely boring.

2. Purchase a day pass to a lounge

Most airlines like United and American have lounges. Airline lounges are the modern day cigar bars for consulting and middle management around the world. Corporate employees flock to them with their overly expensive credit cards to indulge in lukewarm charcuterie and bottom shelf liquor under the guise of being free and staying away from the lower classes in the terminal. This is also where many will willfilly believe that they are in a state of safety surrounded by their own kin.

3. Walk Around and Profit

The one thing you will notice whenever you are in an airline lounge for any period of time is that normal employees treat their laptops like its a toy. You will witness them use it as a plate to carry food and most importantly willfully leave sensitive documents and emails open on their laptop with full brightness for everyone to see but also more importantly leave it unlocked and just walk away.

One of my favorite instances of this was a cold day flying back to New York I ducked into the JFK Delta Sky Club to get a cup of coffee before continuing my slog back into the city and witnessed someone’s laptop for a large firm based in New York completely unlocked, and in an area of the lounge that had no line of sight for anyone to see what you were doing. This leads to a world where individuals with less shitposting intentions than I can easily walk up to laptops, and pull whatever data they want with no ability to be caught.

Do I reccomend doing any of this? Only if its a health insurance company.
